The Home and Property Inspector is fully trained by AHIT - American Home Inspectors Training Institute. The training involves both study materials, but also hands-on experience through working with an experienced home inspector. AHIT further provides additional specialized training on an ongoing basis so that The Home and Property Inspector can stay up to date with current standards as well as to gain further knowledge on specialized inspections, thus providing superior home inspection service in the Cariboo Region. Education never stops because standards never stop.
As of February, 2009, the province of BC has enacted that all property inspectors in BC be licenced. No longer is it acceptable to use an inspector that is doing inspections just because they "know what they are doing".
The Home and Property Inspector is fully licenced and certified by both Home Inspectors Association of BC as well as BPCPA - Business Practice Consumer Protection Agency of BC .
This licensing and certification is now required in BC to ensure that the house inspection you are getting is done to proper current standards and ethics are adhered to. Neither of these associations would approve The Home and Property Inspector unless all required levels of education are completed and the standards are adhered to. The association licensing assures you, the home buyer and home owner that the home inspection is being done correctly.
Education is not the only way that The Home and Property Inspector has come to know about houses and their systems. Through years of practical, hands-on experience actually building houses and working together with experienced trades people installing mechanical systems has The Home and Property Inspector developed extensive knowledge on what it takes to make a good house.
The Home and Property Inspector uses software from AHIT. This software allows fully illustrated reports to be generated as well as all relevant data to be inserted during the inspection. How this helps you the buyer or owner is that the information is generated while it is fresh in the mind of the inspectore, thus giving you the most accurate information possible.
The Home and Property Inspector uses the latest tools for finding problems. Some examples are moisture meters to detect moisture where none can be seen. This ensures that future problems can be detected. A Thermal Imaging device currently not in use anywhere in the Cariboo Region for home inspections, also positively identifies areas that are leaking heat or cold, thus giving accurate data that will allow a homeowner to correct issues that can cost many dollars long before the cost occurs.
